Giro Bicycle Helmet
The objective of this class project was to design, model, and render a bicycle helmet for a brand of our choice. Each student must also create two product advertisement pages. One page must showcase different CMF variants while the other should show the product in use.
This project was created for Design - 356 at CSU Long Beach.
Students each created three digital concept helmet sketches to Present to the class. Using sketching techniques and textures, students must illustrate different material and finish variants for their concepts.
Concept A:
This sleek, uni-body design is targeted toward the urban commuter or casual rider. With only a few vents disrupting the hard outer surface, this helmet is meant to be stylish, while remaining visually unobtrusive.
Concept B:
Continuing from the previous concept, I incorporated a similar, sleek plastic outer shell. While this helmet is still targeted toward the more casual rider, it characterizes faster more emotive styling. With its layered construction, this concept exposes the helmet’s foam as a styling feature.
Concept C:
In this final concept, I built on the idea of more expressive styling, explored concept B. I wanted this design to express a more dynamic and aggressive form.
